My students know their parallelograms now! (I actually saw this on Facebook this past weekend as I was taking a break from writing my parallelogram lesson for my 3rd graders!)
They outlined the shapes I cut out from colored paper, laminated and passed out for them to categorize. After we had some class discussion with the shapes, and they got to pass them around, they selected one to trace and measure. It was a great way to interact with the different shapes to remember their characteristics.
Hi, my name is Alexis Markavage. I'm a student teacher and a Multiple Subject Credential candidate at Dominican University of California. I graduated from the University of Southern California in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design, but now I'm continuing my education to work in education. I hope to work as an upper elementary school teacher.
