My students had fun today making models to go with their math problems. They had the choice of what problem they wanted to model. (Four were written on the board.) Then, they had to write an equation and build a model. They were able to let their imaginations go wild with the choice of any materials--blocks, shapes, cut paper and more. After they were finished, they took a picture of their work. It was fun to see how different each model was from the next! (We all clearly think differently about the same concepts!)
Hi, my name is Alexis Markavage. I'm a student teacher and a Multiple Subject Credential candidate at Dominican University of California. I graduated from the University of Southern California in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design, but now I'm continuing my education to work in education. I hope to work as an upper elementary school teacher.
