For Valentine's Day, we did a bit of painting with watercolors. I found this great activity from Pinterest, and we decided to give it a try.
For ours though, I allowed students to paint with all the colors of the rainbow instead of just reds and purples. They had a blast seeing how colors mingled when bled together. Another tip: I cut paper ahead of time in strips to help them to create one or two rows instead of many. From projects like these, I now see that kids need to be given a paintbrush every once in a while. It's magic.
